The Ministry of Health of Costa Rica approved the protocol for the reopening of audiovisual activities in Costa Rican territory. The Costa Rica health protocol is the result of coordinated efforts among various stakeholders in the audiovisual sector, in which our production company, Cucumelo Films played an active role.
The audiovisual sector protocols were created and approved in accordance with Executive Directive 082-MP-S as a tool for the proper management of production spaces for film products and services, allowing Costa Rican production companies to continue operating during the pandemic. As stated by the Minister of Culture, Ms. Sylvie Durán Salvatierra:
“Each of the approved protocols reflects a major effort by public institutions and the sector to prevent and mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission, while seizing the opportunity to continue contributing to economic activity at a time when the impacts of the pandemic demand strict and responsible adherence to health measures.”
This protocol makes it possible to resume audiovisual and film processes, including pre-production, production, post-production, casting, location scouting, rehearsals, studio production, mobile units, and live streaming, thanks to contributions from entities such as the Costa Rica Film Commission, the Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAMTIC), the Association of Independent Producers of Costa Rica, the National Technical University (UTN), and the Costa Rica Film Center (Centro de Cine).
At Cucumelo Films, we look forward to continuing all our projects in full compliance with this document. We will emerge from this crisis by supporting one another and respecting the guidelines set forth by our health authorities.
